FAQ's

How would you define your style?

The least intrusive as possible! I want your pictures to send you back to a memory or a feeling. Therefore, I take photos of the story that is evolving in front of my eyes. I am inspired by the work of documentary photography, photojournalism or street photography. The idea of catching an instant is what excites me. I might make some small adjustments from time to time to improve the picture quality, like removing objects that are too distracting, adjusting the light quality or modifying it with flash, or suggesting some small shifts in where the scene happens (like closer to a window, for example). In that regard, I deviate a bit from a true photojournalist, but I would like to get as close as possible to it so the pictures are true to reality and are about what really occurs during your wedding.

What is your approach to a couple's session?

An engagement session is a perfect way for us to get to know each other before your wedding. We will spend some time together before the photoshoot so I understand what you value in photography. That way, you can get couple's portraits that resonate with who you are:  It might be taking pictures in a special place, or having photos of you doing a special activity, etc. I want you to have photographs that speak to you!

How many pictures will we get?

I will take a lot of pictures during your big day to make sure I get each tiny moment  just right, but I will spare you from having to look through all those photos! It is easy to get overwhelmed with too many photographs, and in that regard, less is more! So, I will carefully select the best shots and edit them to look great so you can enjoy each and every one of them.
In general, a wedding album has about 150-200 photos, and I usually end up with between 700 and 900 pictures total.

When will we receive our photos?

It takes me, in general, 4-6 weeks to carefully select your pictures, edit them to perfection, and craft a beautiful album.

Do you design albums?

I sure do! I know life gets busy. Even if you have the best intentions, you most likely will push that task to later, and like 90% of couples, never get to it. I want you to enjoy your photographs on a nice print. With an album, you can feel the electricity all over again 6 months after your special day while sipping coffee and cuddling with your partner on the couch. You can relive the excitement with friends and family visiting at your house. And later, you can 'show and tell' your love story to your own children next to the fireplace on a cold winter night.

I know your 'future you' will be so glad you have this album. I would be doing you a disservice if I didn't design one for you.

We are not good in front of the camera, how will you help us?

Unless you are a model or an actor,  you fit into the category "I am not at ease in front of a camera". Don't worry, I've got you covered. We will do some games and little scenarios to have some fun and let your body be natural. I also know a trick or two about posing,  so we will get there and we will enjoy our time together! You will look great, natural and authentic!

Reviews

We won an engagement photo shoot from Etienne at a wedding expo and I feel so fortunate that we did. Etienne is an extremely professional, patient, and creative artist, and our photos turned out fantastic! We ended up having to reschedule our shoot more than once (life happens) but Etienne was flexible and kind each time.

When we approached him with a unique idea, he was so excited and helped our vision come together beautifully in the end. Most people are not accustomed to being photographed, especially during intimate or romantic moments, but Etienne guided us through posing and put us at ease. We got our more eccentric photos and some cute traditional ones for Grandma. :)

Thank you Etienne! It has been so wonderful working with you! See you at the wedding!"
